ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (puh-LEHN'-tee) says his thoughts and prayers are with the people of Chile after a large earthquake there.
Pawlenty led a trade mission to Chile and Brazil in December and delegates had meetings in Santiago and Concepcion in an effort to promote trade exchanges and economic relations.
Pawlenty says in a statement Saturday that trade mission strengthened the growing bonds between the state and the country.
St. Cloud State University President Earl Potter was a member of the delegation. He says the school has a student exchange program with the University of Concepcion. While some Chilean students are at St. Cloud State, there are no students from the university currently studying in Chile.
