National Parks: What You Can Do to Help

When it comes to protecting our most precious natural environments, EVERYONE can make a difference. Here are a few, simple ways you can help:

1. When you visit, take care of the park. It all boils down to respect. Pick up your trash. Leave natural habitats undisturbed. Keep your fires small. Leave your dog on a leash. Don’t destroy anything.

2. Write to Congress and tell them what you think. If actions speak louder than words, just imagine the impact of action and words.

3. Make a financial contribution. These parks don’t run themselves. Not only does park staff deserve a salary, park efforts to preserve the environment can be quite costly. A little financial help can go a long way.

4. Volunteer. Plain and simple.
