Minneapolis lawyer reported shot, killed while visiting Somalia

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) -- A relative says a Minneapolis-based Somali lawyer has been buried a day after he was shot in the Somali capital.

Abdiqadir Mohamed Aden says dozens of people, including Somali politicians, attended the Thursday burial of his relative, Bashir Ahmed Abdi.

Aden says Abdi was buried in a graveyard near the presidential palace where he was staying before being shot on Wednesday. The purpose of Abdi's visit was unclear.

Another relative, Abdirahman Moalin, says he was driving Abdi around when a single shot fired from what looked like a government car hit Abdi beneath his shoulder and killed him instantly.

Abdi, 51, was a businessman in Minneapolis. He was a lawyer in Somalia before he moved to the United States. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
