ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the last two days have seen nine accidents involving snowplows.
5 of the crashes were in the Twin Cities area and the other four were in southeastern Minnesota. The agency is reminding drivers to take extra care around snowplows.
Drivers should stay at least five car lengths behind plows at all time, far from the snow cloud. Plow operators make it a habit to pull over occasionally when it's safe, to allow traffic build-up to pass.
The agency also warns that snowplows turn or exit frequently with little warning, and may at times pass over center lines.
