Minnesota Gov. Tim PawlentyST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty doesn't plan to head to New Orleans for Sunday's NFC championship game between the Vikings and Saints.
Pawlenty said Thursday he declined an offer from Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal to join him in a Superdome suite. Pawlenty said he would have paid his own way there and for admission to the stadium.
The two Republican governors have been trading barbs over the game on their Facebook pages.
Pawlenty is asking visitors to his page if he should send lutefisk, Minnesota-made beer or SPAM to Jindal if the Vikings lose. Comments left on Jindal's page have suggested Pawlenty agree to be Jindal's running mate on a 2012 White House ticket if the Saints advance to the Super Bowl.
