EXCELSIOR, Minn. (AP) - An Episcopal pastor from the Twin Cities has taken over as bishop for part of South Carolina.
The Rev. W. Andrew Waldo was rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Excelsior since 1994. Last weekend he was installed as the eighth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina. That diocese is made up of 64 congregations in 22 counties in the upper portion of the state.
Waldo is the second Minnesota Episcopal priest promoted to the post of bishop in recent weeks. On Nov. 21, the Rev. Michael Hanley of St. Christopher's in Roseville was elected bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon.
