AUSTIN (KTTC-DT) -- Some of the Minnesota Vikings star receivers were trying Tuesday to inspire a whole new generation about physical fitness.
They brought their childhood fitness program to Austin Tuesday morning, and later, gathered at the Hormel Historic Home.
Sidney Rice, Visanthe Shiancoe, and Vikings owner Zygi Wilf came to Austin as part of the Vikings' "You Made the Team" Community Tour. Their first stop was at the Austin YMCA, where they encouraged children to be physically active with the "What Moves U" childhood fitness program.
The program, established by the American Heart Association and the National Football League, and in conjunction with the NFL's Play 60 initiative, strives to teach kids the importance of being physically active for 60 minutes a day.
Rice and Shiancoe spoke to reporters after working out with the kids. Later, the players and Vikings owner Zygi Wilf made their way to the Hormel Historic Home for a special luncheon hosted by the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
