MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Jared Allen is no longer the only defensive end in Minnesota that opposing tackles have to worry about.
While Allen was quiet on Sunday against Detroit, Ray Edwards had two sacks, four quarterback hurries and recovered a fumble in the Vikings' 27-10 victory over the Lions.
Edwards has 4 of his 5 1/2 sacks in the last two games. That is already a career high for the fourth-year veteran out of Purdue. Allen only had one tackle against the Lions, but Edwards more than made up for that by spending most of the day in Matthew Stafford's face.
Edwards says he has been focusing more this season. He also feels more comfortable with his move from right defensive end to the left side. Edwards made the switch to accommodate Allen's arrival last season.
