MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Gophers are getting ready to host South Dakota State. It's a nonconference game against a lower-division opponent, but Minnesota remembers well what happened two years ago at the Metrodome. The Gophers were upset in 2007 by North Dakota State. This year, Minnesota needs one more win to become eligible for a bowl game. The Gophers play at Iowa in the season finale, so another letdown on Saturday would be a crushing blow. South Dakota State is 7-2, and 6-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Jackrabbits have 10 players on their roster who were raised in Minnesota. They haven't faced the Gophers since 1933.
