ROCHESTER (KTTC-DT) -- Students from Rochester Mayo and Rushford-Peterson high schools out-scored dozens of other teams in the State "Knowledge Bowl" staged this week.
From across Minnesota, more than 800 teams began the competition weeks ago. The top four dozen teams gathered to match wits Wednesday and Thursday at Cragun's near Brainerd.
Chaska High School was crowned state champions in Division AA, and Loyola Catholic was the winner in Division A.
Knowledge Bowl coordinator Susan Ward says Mayo's team came in second to Chaska in AA, while the Rushford-Peterson students placed sixth in Division A.
Ward says each member of the four-person teams answers one written and five oral rounds of questions, and it helps to work together as a team.

2nd Place Redwood Area Mayo
3rd Place St. John's Prep Prior Lake-Savage

5th Place Sebeka Glencoe-Silver Lake
