MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) -- Fire investigators are blaming a fatal fire in Mason City late Wednesday night on careless smoking. The fire marshal said a lit cigarette set a recliner on fire after an ashtray overturned and fell between the seat cushion and the arm of the chair.
